Tentokuin temple
This temple was built in 1623 as the family temple for the 3rd feudal load's wife after she died at 24 years of age. She died in 1622,having played an important role in the survival of the Maeda family. The 4th feudal lord Maeda Mitsutaka and 9th lord Shigenobu were also buried in the temple. The lord's wife (daughter of the Tokugawa Shogun) put to rest a dangerous rumor that there was internal feuding within the Maeda family. In 1768 the temple was burnt down and rebuilt in 1769. The gate,a tea kettle and other arts and crafts were designated as Kanazawa city cultural assets in 1970. There is also a fascinating clockwork doll show every 30 minutes.
